4. Sexual Rights Initiative (SRI) recommended that the Government of Slovakia adopt a comprehensive law regulating the gender-reassignment procedures by eliminating all requirements that infringe upon individual rights, such as forced sterilization.

13. SRI recommended that the Government of Slovakia develop and implement a plan of action aimed at lowering society’s negative attitudes towards lesbian and gays, and to promulgate legislation to protect the civil rights of same-sex couples.

A. Protection against all forms of discrimination
26. The Antidiscrimination Act came into force in 2004 to define the general legal framework for the observance of the principle of equal treatment. Under the Act, “respecting the principle of equal treatment consists of prohibition of discrimination on grounds of gender, religious belief, race, national or ethnic origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, marital or family status, colour of skin, language, political or other views, national or social origin, property or other status”.

41. Sweden […] welcomed the inclusion of sexual orientation within the anti-discrimination act and asked if today same-sex partners have been provided equal rights and responsibilities as opposite-sex partners in all areas of legislation.
78. The anti-discrimination act stipulates a list of grounds on which the discrimination is prohibited, including sexual orientation.
V. Conclusions and/or recommendations
Slovakia accepted the following recommendations:
89.50. Provide human rights training and education for members of the judiciary, police and prison personnel, in particular focusing on the protection of human rights of women, children, ethnic minorities, and LGBT and ensure through investigation and prosecution of any misconduct towards these persons (Czech Republic).
Slovakia noted the following recommendations:
89.14. Formulate and implement a national plan of action for the protection of the civil rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) persons (Netherlands).
