Equality and non-discrimination
12. ISHR indicated that the criminalisation of the entire LGBT community created a context in which risks for those advocating LGBT equality were exacerbated. It recommended that Oman acknowledge the role of LGBT defenders in defending the rights of the communities which they represent and take immediate steps to decriminalise homosexuality.

V. Conclusions and/or recommendations
Oman noted the following recommendations:
129.89 Undertake a process with a view to repealing the legislation that criminalizes homosexuality and adopt measures to combat discrimination on the ground of sexual orientation (Mexico);
129.171 Amend or, at least, abstain from applying any law or measure which might endanger the right to life, to freedom and to physical integrity of individuals for reasons associated with their alleged or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity (Brazil).
