Right to privacy
37. JS1 stated that Liberia maintained criminal sanctions against sexual activity between consenting adults of the same sex, even though laws prohibiting such activity had been found to constitute a clear violation of international human rights law. It recommended that the Human Rights Council, in its upcoming review, urge Liberia to bring its legislation into conformity with its international human rights obligations by repealing all provisions which criminalize sexual activity in private between consenting adults of the same sex..
