Canada announced $30 million in dedicated funding for LGBTIQ2 rights
Great news from Canada. The Government has announced new funds in support of LGBTIQ2 rights. The new commitment of $30 million is a dedicated funding over five years, followed by $10 million per year to advance human rights and improve socio-economic outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, and 2-spirited people (LGBTIQ2) people in developing countries.
Canadaās International Development Minister,Marie-Claude Bibeau, and the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on LGBTIQ2 Issues,Ā Randy Boissonnault, made the announcement in Ottawa on February 7th.
ARC ED, Kim Vance-Mubanga was in Ottawa during Canadaās announcement of this fund for Canadian groups and international partners to work on LGBTIQ2 issues in developing countries.
