The Co-Directors of ARC International are Kim Vance and John Fisher. Kim and John have been active on international issues throughout their more than thirty combined years of activity in this area, from the Vienna World Conference on Human Rights in 1993, through the Beijing Women’s Conference, the World Conference against Racism, and follow-up UN fora.

Kim and John were formerly President and Executive Director respectively of the Canadian LGBT rights organization Egale Canada, which successfully led the struggles for, among other things, sexual orientation inclusion in federal antidiscrimination legislation, hate crimes protection, LGBT immigration and refugee rights, and same-sex relationship recognition, including equal adoption and marriage rights.

Drawing upon their background in advocacy, research, communications, network-building and organizational development, Kim and John founded ARC International as a project-driven organization designed to foster the development of international linkages and a strategic international LGBT human rights agenda.
